Cover illustration. One of our best covers was on the first issue of 2000, with a stunning landscape at Capital Reef, Utah, and, in the foreground, a tiny, exposed plant of Pediocactus winkleri. Our present cover is the work of the same photographer, Rob Skillin, and shows another plant in the same area but larger and offsetting because of sheltering vegetation.
