The Sacramento Cactus and Succulent Society will hold their 48th annual Show and Sale, Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, at Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Show times are 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. The public is invited and admission is free. Both novice and professional exhibitors will present displays of these unusual plants and the show offers an educational opportunity for the public to become better acquainted with these botanical oddities that have survived in some of the world's harshest living conditions. The show is non-judged and guests can vote on their favorites. The first 100 guests each day will receive a free plant. There will be a sale both days with vendors offering a wide selection of cactus and succulents as well as unique pottery and containers. They can answer questions and make suggestions for adding these ecologically friendly plants to your plant collection for home, patio or garden. We welcome you to our California Capitol City and hope you will enjoy our show. The Cactus and Succulent Society of New MexicoThe Cactus and Succulent Society of New Mexico will be holding its 35th annual plant show and sale on Saturday April 12th and Sunday April13th. The location will be the Albuquerque Garden Center at 10120 Lomas NE. The hours are 10:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Sunday. There is no admission charge.There will be a wide variety of cacti and succulents for sale, from bargain starter plants to spectacular specimens. We will provide information on identification and care of plants as well as demonstrations on handling and potting. A highlight of the sale will be the silent auction plants: bidding will be done in groups every 2 hours till all plants are sold. Bidders must be present at the close of bidding to purchase plants.
There will be several hundred plants displayed in the show, and they will be the finest specimens from private collections in our region. You do not need to be a member to exhibit plants.
