The aims of the Tephrocactus Study Group to further the Study of Tephrocactus and associated genera sensu Backeberg are as follows:

  1. Define what is a Tephrocactus
  2. To gather as much material as possible on the subject to help us in the task
  3. Organise and collect original descriptions of each species including photographs
  4. Exchange material of authenticated plants
  5. Exchange experience of growing and flowering plants
  6. Distribute material and seed
  7. Have an Annual Meeting to discuss progress and bring plants for for comparison
  8. Publish a quarterly Journal
  9. Establish Reference Plants from member's collections giving a TSG reference number
  10. Subgroups for inclusion: Maihueniopsis, Puna, Airampoa, Pterocactus, etc.
The Subscription is £10.00 per year for U.K. and Europe. £14 (23 US$) for overseas members

4 issues per year (one a quarter) are published. All cheques should be made out to: "The Tephrocactus Study Group" and sent to John Betteley.
