Cover illustration: Aloe dhufarensis, a splendid aloe of subtle coloration, is discussed by Philip Favell in this issue. The painting is by Dorothy Byer, a talented artist of Vista, California, who used a plant in Mr. Favell's garden as a model. Dorothy, especially interested in aloes and terrestrial bromeliads, is preparing a series of paintings of these plants for our pages.
